The husband of a family physician, papa to a posse of four kids, and pastor in The United Methodist Church, I am planted where my life first took root:  Floyd County, Virginia–a mountain republic in the heart of the Appalachians.  Living on the farm that’s been in my family for six generations, I look for signs of God among forgotten spaces, overlooked people, and everyday places, and share my discoveries here.  My hope is to help spiritual seekers to develop vision to see what is hidden:  the extraordinary in the ordinary, and the sacred in the profane.
